THE CASE FOR THE CRUISING TRIMARAN PREFACE

Annotation:

The OutRig! Project undertakes to re-publish classic multihull literature that has gone out of print. This is the first example, available soon in print and ebook download from www.outrigmedia.com. This work was an investigation of the various multihull mishaps and tragedies then being publicized, with conclusions drawn as to how multihull capsize can be prevented, prepared for and survived. Elements of multihull design and seamanship are discussed.

This preface to the new edition tells of how the public’s acceptance of multihulls has changed, and how the book’s conclusions still stand or have been modified. A section on the commercial aspects of multihulls, then and now, is included.
